ABOUT APOLO
Apolo Solar Design was founded by Brian Richards and has been gratefully serving solar clients from our home base in San Miguel de Allende since 1995. We started designing and building off-grid residences to fulfill the need to find sustainable and economical living solutions for friends and family. Concentrating on biosphere stewardship we found great joy in designing with the earth forces of the sun, wind and rain. We have always tried to source our materials locally. Over the decades as photovoltaic technology matured we turned our focus toward the expanding solar market. We have the satisfying experience of witnessing solar energy going from a fringe idea to one of the principle solutions to our future health and well being. Thanks to solar more and more homes and businesses are finding there are enormous economical benefits to lowering your carbon foot-print. We have hundreds of clients in which we have helped to realize their sustainable energy dreams.

IS IT TRUE THE CFE WILL BUY MY SOLAR GENERATED ELECTRICITY?
Yes and no, the CFE will exchange your excess solar electricity generated during daylight hours for the energy you need when the sun is not shining. So they don't actually pay you for your excess energy but they do credit you for it. Your energy credit is valid for one full year after the day it was generated.

HOW MUCH DOES A SOLAR SYSTEM COST?
Grid tie systems are very efficient and cost effective, they have a return on investment period of 3-5 years depending on the size .
These systems are warrantied for 20-25 years.
Off grid systems are more complicated because of the batteries but can offer big savings for sites that are far away from the CFE grid.

IS THERE A LOT OF MAINTENANCE ON A PHOTOVOLTAIC SYSTEM?
No, there is no maintenance. Occasionally one might want to wash the dust off the panels to increase electrical output. If you have a battery based off grid system the batteries will require servicing.
